In light of the community development, Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO) and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., recently handed over new equipment to the eye center of the Navotas City Hospital. Present in the handover were Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco, along with Navotas City Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, city councilors, and hospital officials.
The Navotas City Hospital received new tools for glaucoma screening tonometer and for eye disease examination slit lamp.
“We are thankful for this donation from TMO, and we thank them for being one of our constant partners in the development of our city. This will help us provide better services to our constituents,” said Mayor Tiongco.
With the addition of these new instruments, Navoteños no longer have to go to other hospitals or eye clinics. They can do their eye check-ups here in Navotas City Hospital.
Navotas City Hospital Director Dr. Spica Mendoza-Acoba shared these equipment will be able to improve the level of care the hospital provides to its patients. “This development ensures that we can provide the primary healthcare needs of the community and it also brings us closer to the status of Level 2 hospital,” she added.
AboitizPower’s Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) head Shireen Prince thanked the local hospital for giving AboitizPower the opportunity to participate in the improvement of the hospital’s services and the health of Navoteños.
“Beyond our aim to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, we want to contribute more to our host communities through corporate social responsibility projects that promote health and well being,” she said.
